Client:  China Railway Xi'an Group

Commissioned by Xi’an Railway with a 2-week deadline, I created packaging designs for their café brand, WEIDOU. The goal was to reflect the rich historical background of Xi’an while incorporating vibrant colors to appeal to a younger generation of customers.
 The main visual of the packaging was inspired by the rich emerald green glazed roof tiles of the famous historical Xi’an Bell Tower. I retained the color and flowing patterns of the tiles, blending them with a railway sleeper motif and adding an illustration of a high-speed train. 

At first glance, the design appears to be a simple railway illustration, but upon closer look, it also resembles a train running across the roof of the tower, adding a note of playfulness.
To differentiate between dark and light roast beans, I used the emerald green packaging for dark roast beans and introduced a yellow tile design for light roast beans—a color also commonly found in ancient Chinese glazed tiles.
